The Dr. Charles L. Sifford Golf Course, located in Charlotte’s South End just minutes from Uptown, is a 9-hole public course with a rich history. Originally built in the 1930s as Bonnie Brae Golf Course and designed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as an 18-hole layout, the course was reduced to 9 holes in the 1970s during the construction of I-77 and renamed Revolution Park Golf Course. In 2010, it was renamed again to honor Dr. Charles Sifford, the first African American to earn a PGA Tour card. Today, the course features skyline views, Bermuda grass from tee to green, and a complete practice facility with a driving range and short game area. Affordable, fun, and time-efficient, The Dr. Charles L. Sifford Golf Course continues its legacy as Charlotte’s community course for players of all ages and skill levels.
