The Troon-managed Kissing Tree Golf Club anchors a recently minted 55+ residential community that spreads out over 1,500 acres in San Marcos, Texas. Designed by Texas-based course architect Gary Stephenson, the facility s 18-hole layout has been a hit ever since it debuted in October 2018. Kissing Tree Golf Club has made multiple appearances on Golf Advisor s list of the Top Courses in Texas. Stephenson's environmentally conscious layout has also earned certification in Audubon International s Signature Program. Taking full advantage of its Hill Country setting, Kissing Tree Golf Club provides a scenic round that players of all ages and skill levels can enjoy. The well-maintained par-71 playing field tops out at 6,500 yards, but there are four sets of tee markers in total, the shortest of which measures 4,998 yards. Elevated tee boxes, wide fairways, and several fun short par 4s are just some of the player-friendly features of Kissing Tree Golf Club. Water enters the fray on five holes but you need not fear forced carries. Although Stephenson didn t insert many sand traps into the layout, where he did, the bunkers are often large and horseshoe shaped. Kissing Tree Golf Club s receptive greens roll smoothly but can be tough to read. This is a course that gives players a chance to shoot a good score. Because of the spread-out nature of the golf grounds, carts are mandatory for all players. Practice facilities are another strong suit at Kissing Tree Golf Club. You ll find a driving range, short game area, and putting green. After utilizing temporary facilities for the pro shop and snack area since its inception, the club s permanent, full-service clubhouse is slated to come on board in 2023.
