Designed by Stephen Kay and Doug Smith, the parkland-style layout extends through a wooded environment. Each hole exists in its own private corridor, creating a wonderful sense of privacy and solitude as you make your way through the routing. Harbor Pines Golf Club features five sets of tee boxes (plus two scorecard options for hybrid tees) and generous fairways to ensure that highly skilled and less accomplished players alike can have an enjoyable round. The layout provides plenty of variety, as the holes play in all different directions. Hole no. 9, called "Escape," rates as Harbor Pines Golf Club's toughest par 4 because of its length (460 yards from the tips) and the precision needed to avoid the water to the left and the trees to the right of the fairway. One of the distinctive features of the course is its bunkering. You can count on seeing sand in all shapes and sizes, from the long, ribbon-like bunker known as Sand Creek that you cross via a bridge on the par-5 7th hole to the enormous half-acre sand pit on the par-4 17th hole.
