Golf Courses in Georgetown, TX

Known as the "Red Poppy Capital of Texas" for the red poppy wildflowers planted throughout the city, this little city north of Austin has a historic downtown, a university and is a great retirement community. The downtown is chock full of shops, restaurants, and you can even take a “sculpture tour,” among those sites, including its historic library. The community of approximately 50,000 people is also home to Southwestern University. Georgetown is also a great place to retire. Sun City Texas has 41,000 acres promotes all kinds of activities, including golf. The three golf courses there are all outstanding and well-conditioned and best of all, there are tee times available for the public at-large. Another good public course is Terra Vista Golf Club, a highly-rated daily fee that plays over 7,000 yards. And Forest Creek, a Dick Phelps design later renovated by Colligan Golf Group is another good public option. Georgetown has its fair share of private clubs, too, led by the Jack Nicklaus signature design, Cimarron Hills Golf & Country Club.
