Golf Courses in Tyler, TX

Famous for its roses as well as a football player known as the Tyler Rose, the city of Tyler is a city of a little more than 100,000 people in East Texas, about 100 miles southeast of Dallas. The Tyler Rose Garden is a 14-acre park with more than 38,000 rose bushes as well as fountains, gazebos and walking path. The Tyler Rose is Earl Campbell, the city's most famous alum, who won a Heisman Trophy at the University of Texas and is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. As for golf, Tyler has some good public options and a very good private golf scene. Pine Springs Golf Course is a regulation 18-hole course that's player friendly. Oakhurst at Peach Tree Golf Club is another option for public tee times. And if you're willing to drive a few miles west to Frankston, Pine Dunes, which has a Carolina sandhills feel to it, is one of the best public courses in Texas. Tyler's excellent private courses include Hollytree, The Cascades and Willow Brook Country Club.
